Designer vs High street: Trends for cheaper

Struggling to pay for those pricey shoes from Prada? Me too. Sometimes it’s better to take the ideas from the designers and find those items in high street stores for a tenth of the price. Here are some designer to high street items for this upcoming summer I have found.

Shoes, shoes are a must have. The new trend has got to be open toe ankle boot heels. These Prada heels are a killer at £490! I found some substantially cheaper ones from Public Desire for just £29.99!

Next up is a leather number – well in terms of high street (faux leather). I found a pair of leather runner type shorts from the Acne studios collection which were a huge £550! They are of course real leather. The high street comparison is a pair of faux leather shorts from Boohoo which were a bargain at £12!

Up next is an essential summer piece which you need to have in your wardrobe. Lace up tops are looking big for this year. I found a neat lace up playsuit from Roberto Cavalli which costs a whopping £905. As an alternative: the black lace up playsuit from Asos which costs you a reasonable £25. This is n essential for summer holidays!

Next, I have a Kim Kardashian inspired outfit – a roll neck bodycon. The designer version of this dress is from Whistles and costs you £60 – your thinking not too bad… Right! But what if I told you that you can have a very similar dress for a quarter of the price? The high street version is from Boohoo and costs £15!

Finally, I have a number which featured in my “Spring/Summer 15 trends” post. The Balenciaga crepe jacket. I love this jacket as it is so versatile! However it’s pricey: £1,840. It seemed so out of reach but then I found a Zara version which was almost identical! The high street jacket costing £49.99!

That’s it! A few of my favourite designer pieces which have similar versions for a fraction of the price!

Shopping top tip:

Buy a couple of statement items from your favourite designer brand but buy the rest from the high street – you will save a tonne of money!

Thanks for reading! 🙂
