January is a month for trying new things, am I right? When it comes to beauty, I love trying new things. I have plenty of new products which I have grown to love over the past month. I have found myself using much more lipstick, just because you can’t ever get bored of lipstick, and it always looks great!
Number one is the NYX Lip Lingerie in Bedtime Flirt. This colour is my holy grail when it comes to everyday lipstick. The absolute truth is that I have probably used this for ninety percent of the month’s makeup looks. It is so versatile and can be paired with any outfit, but still stands out enough. The texture is silky and it is easy to apply because of the long wand. It also dries super quickly which is an added bonus because I’m always in such a rush in the morning. To add to the positives about this product, it is also reasonably priced, just as most NYX products are. It retails at £6.50 and is available from ASOS or Boots. If you are looking for a nude wearable lipstick which will last all day, I’d highly recommend this product!
My next favourite product from January is a skincare product: it is the KIKO Energy face mask. I love applying face masks as a treat in the evening as they always seem to make improve my skin. I have noticed that whenever I use this product my skin looks visibly clearer. It comes as a black colour and I apply it mainly to my T Zone and my cheeks because that is my problematic area. The mask is a decent price for a good quality product so If you suffer from blemishes I would recommend trying this product and establishing whether it works for your skin. Remember, skincare can sometimes be trial and error, it is important that you find what works for your skin.
Another product which I have absolutely loved this January is a perfume. I first smelt this perfume when I visited Amsterdam last year and it was amazing. Since then, whenever I have seen it I have had to spray some. It reminds me of my trip to Amsterdam! It is the Decadence perfume by Marc Jacobs. The smell is woody and silky, thanks to the saffron and plums which it is infused with. The only downside to this product is that it is a little pricey. This product was bought as a gift for me, so I was lucky. However, personally, I don’t mind spending money once in a while on a nice perfume because it lasts and it always makes me feel good about myself.
Another product which I have loved using every morning this January is also a gift I received from my best friend. It is the W7 ‘colour me buff’ natural nudes palette. The colours are beautiful creams and browns which are great for everyday eyeshadow. There is a great range of colours for creating a vast amount of looks. My favourite colour is the shimmery cream colour and I love using it on my lid to brighten my eyes up. This palette is a great alternative to the Naked 2 palette!
